Danny Young

Danny Young is best known for Staring in Coronation Street but so nearly became a professional football player.

Danny was born in 1986 on the 7th November in sunny Harlow, Essex. Like many boys he became obsessed with football and was fortunate enough to be signed by a professional club aged 10, but he was released aged 14 by Charlton Athletic F.C and after a short spell at Leyton Orient started an acting career

He says: "I was so lucky being spotted in Spain on the karaoke from a lady from Sylvia Young acting agency."

In his second audition he won a part on a Woolworths advert

He then got his acting break when winning the best actors award for his role as Dean, playing Tamzin Outhwaite's son who killed himself in his cell after being bullied in prison in the award winning Drama "Out of Control."

He also starred in TV's "The Vice", the popular kids show "Kerching" and many films including the award winning "Gone".

Then he landed his biggest role in Coronation Street playing Warren Baldwin for 18 months. During his time on the show he fell for co-star Nikki Sanderson.

Since then he started a career in feature films - both acting and producing. He starred in ‘Gates’ alongside Danny Dyer, Jamie Murray, Louise Winston and Stephen Berkoff and then Expose (Martin Kemp's directorial debut). Sadly he split from Nikki as the pressure of living 200 miles apart became too much.

Danny was a popular participant on this years Dancing On Ice, finishing in 5th place.

One of his most talked about performances on the show was when he was giving a Rocky themed routine which finished with him revealing his torso - this had girls going wild & guys wanting to know his training regime
